Writing a pWPS
This is a not so short video on how to write a pWPS. A pWPS is a work instruction for welders when you are welding up a PQR test coupon. This video gives insight in how to come up with parameters for the pWPS and a direction to go.

Studying for my CWI test. I confuse toughness and fatigue strength. Especially when they ask questions about cyclical loading and ability to hold a load (tensile strength?) They all seem very similar to me but are different aapects
Excellent explanation!
Gracias gran aporte
Hello sir, I am do WPQT for fillet weld 2F position. My question is what is the qualified range for Outside Diameter? Because its only mention the qualified for dihedral angles.
Thank you Gary, you have given lot of valuable information
Gary, I do not know if you, yourself have any actual experience in welding. But I have enjoyed your videos and I believe you know as well as I do. There is no welding code! ASME is not qualified to write any code, let alone a welding code because they are not metallurgists! AWS is written by doctors of metallurgy! They qualified to write a welding but do not, why I have no idea! I use B.2 only and/or the military specifications, the experts! Three mile island nuclear, so called accident, was in fact a failure involving ASME. We need a code for welding, period. Written by experts that know what they are doing. A code that addresses, new to new, new to old and repairs, both new and old. That also addresses the safety factor and service life. I have 40+ years as a welder and retired CWI as a coordinator.
Hello sir ...how to get the welding process if not given while doing WPS
YOU ARE AMAZING. THANKS
Very good explanation sir, thank you
Thank you for the video, gteat stuff
What is the problem with NA (not applicable)?
Very good job sir....
I agree about what you said. There's always one welder in the comments who thinks they know everything because they welded at 1 or 2 jobs their entire life and only seen a little small piece of the welding industry. And they're so close-minded that they think their way is the only way. Then I see the comments that say things like if you would have done that where I work you would have been fired. Most of them probably don't know anything about a code or a standard. I've never had formal training and don't know the ins and outs
If I would have known about this I would have required all of my students to watch live
Might have to do another one - don't know when - but might have to put it on the schedule.
thanks Garry for videos
Years later, still a great video!
Commenting for the algorithms. I learned a lot! David goggins hardness scale should be a metallurgical meme haha 😂
I’m on the 10th video of yours, as a budding hobby welder but medical professional background your delivery of info in a scientific manner is exactly what I had been looking for. I wanted more than welding tutorials I wanted the reasoning behind it. Thank you!
Thanks for the kind words glad this stuff helps you out.
Thank you sir.
Good infromation, I was confused with the arrow side and other side picture around 11:30, but I get it now. Good job!
Can you weld in globular transfer with c-25 gas and still be in bounds of 1.1?????
Thank you for your explanation!
Great information as always Gary
Thanks as always Gary
Thanks for watching and glad that this material is useful.
What an ending 🍽
Great content!
Really appreciate all these videos you have posted. They've cleared up many questions I have.
Way cool - thanks for the kind words and glad they are of use.
Can you bring your own tools for part B?
I don't know - I don't have an answer for that one. I guess you could try - but I am betting they are going to tell you no.
@@gpacexok thank you

Hey Garry, loving the videos, any chance we could get some videos on API 1104 or some other codes as well? Thanks!
See what I can do. Thanks for watching.
@@gpacexI just saw your uploads, thanks!
Excellent info and explanation. We need more in-depth content on welding with on-field usage.👏
This man is a treasure for people that work in the energy sector.

Excellent !! Tnx Garry.
Excellent video! Retired Vet, getting ready to take my Course - and PASS!
Do you teach a CWI course?
Thank you for your post on AWS forum. Just skimming through your vids is amazing. So much knowledge that you have shared. I'm surprised you don't have more followers. Thank yoy
